Learning Golf Takes Time

Learning to play golf can be a challenging task. You need ample time to study all the rules of the game before you even pick up your golf club. You need to be aware of some common mistakes that first timers are prone to commit and a trained instructor can prevent you from making those same mistakes. It will be more pleasurable to learn with an instructor around to guide you.

Beginners learning golf tend to lookup when striking the ball. This is a problem because it can result in a stroke being counted even if you did not hit the ball. Always look down after you have hit the ball! Your hips need to be rotated after hitting. Right from the start when you are learning golf, the extended arm position during a swing really helps to improve your swing. After a successful hit, count to five before you raise your eyes upwards.

Another common problem for people learning golf is that once on the green, too many putts are missed. Adopt a putting stance and keep looking at the golf ball. This will prevent you from missing the ball or hitting it in the wrong direction to where you want it to go. Just by looking down when you putt will increase your chances of success.

It is kind of funny to see the ball of those learning golf, going to the sides instead of the middle of the green. This is very simple to remedy if you are patient. You may be using the wrong stance so keep a check on this. You need to ensure that you are taking the time to carefully analyze your stance before each swing so you may need to back up a bit to ensure that you are not hitting the ball from the side of the club. The ball will swing to the side instead of the direction you want it to go. You need to build your strength and make solid swings to throw the ball into the direction yow want.

There is one common mistake those learning golf are prone to make - hooking the ball! The wrong stance can be the culprit so sometimes one needs to correct the way the ball is hit. The other thing is to ensure you are not gripping the golf club too strongly. Keep on practicing and you will soon make the improvement you wish.
